Job Summary:

As a Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser Permanente, you will administer general and regional anesthesia for various surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures. You will work under the medical supervision of a physician anesthesiologist and be responsible for the care of patients of all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Your duties will include airway management, maintenance of fluid balance, homeostasis, monitoring, and response to emergencies related to airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer anesthesia to patients of all age groups.
  • Evaluate patients pre-operatively and review charts for relevant information.
  • Select anesthetic for patients based on pre-operative examination and collaborate with MDs.
  • Monitor patients intraoperatively and evaluate their operative and post-operative condition.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow departmental guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the anesthesia team, including MDAs, CRNAs, and Anesthesia TECHs.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) within 5 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for various age group patients.
  • General and Regional administration, deep sedation, Hemodynamic monitoring, and use of all Anesthesia-related equipment.
