Job Summary

As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Under the medical supervision of an anesthesiologist, you will administer general and regional anesthesia, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients pre-operatively, reviewing medical history and conducting thorough examinations to determine the best course of anesthesia.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists to select anesthetic agents and develop personalized anesthesia plans.
  • Administer anesthesia in accordance with clinical privileges and hospital standards, monitoring patients' responses and adjusting anesthesia as needed.
  • Evaluate patients' post-operative condition, taking necessary actions to maintain stability and ensure a smooth recovery.
  • Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate records of anesthesia administration, including controlled substances, and adhere to departmental guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in anesthesia care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
  • Current RN licensure in California.
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in anesthesia for complex procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and adhere to departmental guidelines.
