Job Summary

As a Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser Permanente, you will administer general and regional anesthesia for various surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures. You will work under the medical supervision of a physician anesthesiologist and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to patients of all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Evaluate patients pre-operatively through interviewing and examining charts, and collaborate with physicians to select anesthetic plans.
  • Monitor patients' operative and post-operative conditions, taking necessary actions to maintain stability.
  • Prepare and administer anesthesia medications, equipment, and supplies in accordance with clinical privileges and departmental guidelines.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and physician anesthesiologists to address special concerns and develop anesthetic plans.
  • Document patient care and maintain accurate records of controlled substances.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) within 5 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement.
  • Knowledge of anesthesia-related equipment and supplies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment

This is a full-time variable position with rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. The work location is on-site at Kaiser Permanente's Riverside Medical Center/Medical Offices 1.
