Job Overview: The Accounting Specialist for Financial Reporting will be integral to our financial operations, tasked with duties such as preparing data for journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and generating related financial statements; executing daily general accounting tasks.

Key Duties: General Ledger Management Prepares journal entries for the general ledger, tracks fixed assets, reconciles monthly balance sheets, and conducts bank reconciliations. Produces and submits monthly financial reports. Aids in the preparation of periodic financial statements for timely distribution to management. Acts as a backup for accounts payable tasks, including verifying invoices, expense reports, check requests, and purchase requisitions; entering data into the accounts payable system; and managing weekly check runs. Serves as a backup for payroll processing. Coordinates the implementation of accounting systems and control procedures. Payroll Reconciliation: Reconciles detailed payroll transactions with the general ledger. Investigates and resolves discrepancies in payroll entries. Prepares journal entries related to payroll transactions. Imports payroll files into the general ledger system. Verifies the accuracy of payroll data and addresses any import-related issues. Collaborates with payroll providers to ensure data integrity. Interdepartmental Transactions: Manages and reconciles interdepartmental transactions across various divisions. Ensures accurate and timely recording of interdepartmental transfers. Investigates and resolves discrepancies in interdepartmental transactions. Prepares monthly interdepartmental invoices. Quarter-End Closing: Assists in the quarter-end closing process by preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports. Ensures adherence to accounting standards and company policies during the closing process. Collaborates with the finance team to meet reporting deadlines. Position Qualifications: Degree in Accounting or Business from an accredited institution. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred (internship or equivalent). Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred. Strong attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills and a strong focus on detail. Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented multi-tasker. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment. Capacity to learn new software quickly. Work Hours: 40 hours/week, with flexibility to work overtime as needed. Each SERVPRO Franchise is Independently Owned and Operated. Compensation: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year.
