Job Summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing Specialist to join our team. This role involves conducting daily oversight of construction materials testing and inspection on construction sites to ensure compliance with specified standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize a 40 lb. nuclear gauge to run tests on construction materials
  • Obtain concrete samples from ready mix trucks
  • Make concrete test cylinders
  • Run tests on concrete samples and deliver them to the laboratory
  • Observe and record construction crew performance data for related activities
  • Perform visual inspection of rebar
  • Obtain and deliver soil samples from the job site to the laboratory
  • Interact with clients and contractors in a professional and ethical manner
  • Ensure that company-owned equipment is maintained in good working order for use on projects and/or assignments
  • Establish and maintain a daily diary of all field activities for each project
  • Submit daily reports and other documentation to the Org Manager as required by project specifications and/or applicable criteria
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience in a CMT Level II Technician position
  • Level III Certifications for relevant work assignments
  • Valid driver's license
  • Effective communication skills
