POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Enrollment Services Advisor is to connect with and onboard prospective students. This role serves as the initial point of contact for individuals interested in pursuing educational opportunities at Southeastern College. The relationship established during this interaction can significantly influence the decision-making process of potential students regarding their enrollment. Furthermore, the Enrollment Services Advisor is essential in facilitating a smooth transition for new students into their chosen programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Enrollment Services Advisor plays a vital role in attracting and enrolling qualified candidates. Key responsibilities include:
  • Engaging, assessing, and qualifying prospective students
  • Maintaining a robust pipeline of candidates
  • Facilitating the enrollment process for eligible students
CORE FUNCTIONS:

Engaging Prospective Students:
  • Evaluate inquiries and leads provided by the Admissions Director
  • Initiate outbound communication with potential candidates
  • Conduct preliminary phone screenings to:
  • Gauge interest and encourage in-person interviews
  • Schedule appointments for face-to-face discussions with promising candidates
  • Carry out in-person interviews (or phone interviews for online programs)
  • Administer student self-assessments
  • Execute structured interviews to:
  • Assess readiness
  • Identify obstacles
  • Pinpoint available resources and support
  • Provide an overview of Southeastern College and its program offerings
  • Discuss specific program options
  • Coordinate admissions testing and review results
  • Initiate the enrollment process
  • Ensure candidates meet with the Bursar for fee payments
  • Arrange financial aid consultations with the Financial Aid Department
Candidate Follow-Up:
  • Maintain communication with candidates regarding inquiries, enrollment processes, financial aid documentation, registration, orientation, and class commencement.
  • Perform administrative duties including the creation of permanent student records, assisting students with required documentation, and obtaining transcripts and records.
  • Ensure completeness of files before transitioning to Financial Aid and Academic departments.
  • Prepare candidates for orientation.
  • Collaborate with Financial Aid Administrators.
  • Participate in orientation sessions.
  • Welcome students at the start of classes.
Activity Management and Planning:
  • Familiarize with curriculum and new program offerings.
  • Understand career opportunities associated with each program and the job market.
  • Develop a weekly activity plan.
  • Maintain logs in the designated system.
  • Keep a steady pipeline of prospects.
  • Achieve student enrollment objectives.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role is situated in a professional office environment characterized by moderate noise levels and a controlled climate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The position necessitates standard office activities such as sitting, communicating with colleagues, and attending meetings. A significant portion of the role involves making and receiving phone calls, as well as data entry on computers. On any given day, a considerable amount of time may be dedicated to phone interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The Enrollment Services Advisor position is focused on identifying and onboarding qualified students. Therefore, a consultative approach is essential. Candidates should possess experience in client services, career counseling, or recruitment. A bachelor's degree is required for this role, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate the value of higher education.
