The IR / IE team, led by esteemed professionals, is at the forefront of implementing these critical procedures for companion animals.

As an IR / IE Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing anesthesia for these innovative procedures, collaborating closely with our expert technicians and board-certified anesthesiologist. Your responsibilities will also encompass engaging with clients during clinic appointments and assisting in post-operative communications and patient discharges.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Administering anesthesia support for advanced IR / IE procedures across various ASA levels
  • Managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining surgical and anesthetic equipment and supplies
  • Collaborating with veterinarians in clinical settings and effectively communicating with clients
  • Supporting all facets of patient care from admission to discharge
  • Contributing to research initiatives and educational endeavors
Essential Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid NYS Veterinary Technician's license
  • Proficient anesthesia skills with the capability to handle critical and emergency situations
  • This position is particularly suited for technicians aiming for a VTS in anesthesia and analgesia
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, maintaining composure in high-pressure environments
  • Preferred experience in phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia protocols, monitoring, and post-operative care
  • At least one year of training in an advanced veterinary surgical setting is advantageous
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as needed and a commitment to staying updated in veterinary anesthesia practices
  • Physical capability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 50 pounds
