Licensed Veterinary Technician

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in the delivery of veterinary care and surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring the health and well-being of our animal patients.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Gather and document essential patient information, including medical histories, vital signs, and weights.
- Laboratory Testing: Conduct in-house laboratory tests and prepare samples for external laboratories.
- Medication Administration: Dispense and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
- Fluid Therapy: Administer intravenous fluids and medications as prescribed, including the operation and maintenance of IV pumps.
- Anesthesia Monitoring: Assist in the administration and monitoring of anesthesia under veterinary supervision.
- Nursing Care: Provide specialized nursing support for animals that are injured or unwell.
- Surgical Preparation: Prepare patients and surgical instruments, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and sterilized.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all monitoring and support equipment is functioning properly.
- Client Communication: Engage with pet owners in a compassionate and professional manner, providing education and support.
- Radiography: Perform radiographic procedures, ensuring proper positioning and processing of images.
- Preventative Care Education: Maintain up-to-date knowledge on preventative healthcare to assist clients with inquiries regarding vaccines and other services.
- Product Knowledge: Educate clients about products and medications available, including dietary options.
- Follow-Up: Conduct follow-up calls with clients as needed.
- Facility Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and legally defensible medical records in collaboration with veterinarians.
