As a key member of the surgical team, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading a clinical team and ensuring operational efficiency
- Training new clinical staff members
- Collaborating with doctors and management to enhance hospital operations
- Educating clients
- Conducting pre-surgical assessments
- Providing post-operative care
- Participating in case discussions with the doctor
Essential Qualifications:
- Licensure in New York State
- Proficient record-keeping abilities
- Strong understanding of pharmacology
- Comfortable working with both young and senior patients
- Experience in training technicians and providing constructive feedback
- Ability to perform CPR and knowledge of emergency medications
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proven experience in leading a clinical team
- Experience in onboarding new clinical staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience as a licensed veterinary technician
- Skills in anesthesia
- Experience in surgical procedures
- Aspirations to pursue Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) certification
