Job Title: Geotechnical Project Engineer

CTL Thompson, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO.

About the Role:

We are looking for a talented engineer to manage and complete complex design projects primarily involved with commercial, residential, and municipal structures. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and designing structural or geotechnical components of a project. They will use relevant software to perform engineering analysis and develop plans and reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and complete complex design projects
  • Plan, analyze, and design structural or geotechnical components of a project
  • Use relevant software to perform engineering analysis and develop plans and reports
  • Review project recommendations and designs
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers and architects to develop coordinated designs
  • Conduct studies involving geotechnical investigations, foundation, slope stability, pavement design, and earth retention
  • Perform testing and sampling on various geotechnical materials
  • Prepare project documentation, including plans, reports, and letters for clients
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Civil or related engineering field
  • At least 5 years of experience in the specified field
  • Current Professional Engineer License in the state of employment or ability to obtain a license in 6 months of employment
  • Licensure in other States as required
Work Environment:

This job operates in both an outside, field environment, and in an office setting. Regular work on computers while in the office. While working in the field, will be exposed to extreme weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold, and heat. Routinely uses PPE and other safety equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. Ability to walk around construction sites with uneven and varying terrain. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
