Position Overview
WSP USA is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer to enhance our global Mining Team. This role will be based in our Denver, Colorado office and will involve collaboration with clients across North America and South America.

Your Role
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering geotechnical and geological projects tailored to the needs of our mining clientele. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing civil/geotechnical investigations and design initiatives.
  • Overseeing project scope, budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinating project teams to ensure high-quality technical deliverables.
  • Conducting and reviewing geotechnical engineering analyses.
  • Preparing comprehensive technical reports and proposals.
  • Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities.
  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of proposals and statements of qualifications.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites, both domestically and internationally, as required.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on mining projects.
  • Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • A robust academic foundation and a solid grasp of soil mechanics.
  • Experience in areas such as Tailings Storage Facility design, foundations, and earth dams.
  • Proven project management skills, including scheduling and budgeting, with the ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and geotechnical design software.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering and knowledge of Civil 3D will be given preference.
