Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our Energy & Resources group. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will work on challenging and diverse tasks for dams and hydroelectric projects, conveyance tunnels, and water resource projects for a variety of domestic and international clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply engineering principles and techniques to support project activities
  • Work independently and with small and large teams to solve technical issues and develop project-specific solutions
  • Lead technical teams, perform technical work, make technical presentations, plan technical portions of projects, develop technical portions of proposals, and provide technical review of work products
  • Manage projects and tasks with the assistance of 1 to 10 engineers
  • Develop familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, technical design standards, and industry standards and guidelines
  • Lead the preparation of and take responsibility for technical reports including geotechnical data reports, geotechnical baseline reports, field reports, technical memoranda, computation packages, feasibility reports, and design and evaluation reports
Requirements
  • 10 to 15 years' work experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Dams or water infrastructure experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Professional engineer license preferred, or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
What We Offer

Stantec offers a competitive salary range of $108,000 - $162,000, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid family leave.

Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
