About the Job

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, or advanced degree, and a minimum of five years' experience in a healthcare setting. Previous clerk, office, and/or administrative assistant work, as well as medical experience, are preferred. As an Ambulatory Healthcare Support Specialist, you will be responsible for managing clinic patient schedules, verifying insurance benefits, and overseeing Health Information Management in accordance with Salem Health policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient schedules and ensure accurate registration and check-out procedures
  • Verify written physician orders for accuracy
  • Verify insurance benefits and complete MSPQ forms as needed
  • Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and payments on past due accounts
  • Oversight of Health Information Management, ensuring HIPAA compliance
