Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Los Angeles Community Hospital. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and orderly admission of all inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients accurately and thoroughly, ensuring that all necessary admission forms are completed and verified.
  • Verify patient information, including medical record status, and ensure that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures.
  • Operate the PBX system, answer incoming calls, and transfer calls to the appropriate department or patient room.
  • Ensure that each patient receives an identification bracelet upon admission and that all necessary authorization is obtained for scheduled procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a safe and confidential environment for patients, families, and employees.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in an admitting office or PBX operator role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
