Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Los Angeles Community Hospital. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and orderly admission of all inpatients and outpatients.
Key Responsibilities- Registers all patients according to department procedures
- Completes all necessary admission forms accurately and thoroughly
- Verifies patient information and ensures accuracy
- Prepares patients' financial folders and distributes copies to appropriate departments
- Ensures each account is billable and pre-certification requirements are met
- Contacts physicians' offices to obtain required pre-admission information
- Explains hospital policies regarding payment of service and collects payments
- Requests identification cards and insurance cards during the admission process
- Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility
- Ensures each patient receives an identification bracelet upon admission
- Two years of admitting office and/or PBX operator experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong time management skills and ability to multitask
- Computer literacy and proficiency
- Ability to demonstrate customer service skills
