Job Title: Quality Improvement Technician

Join Subaru, a leading auto brand in the US, as a Quality Improvement Technician. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in investigating vehicle parts quality issues and collaborating with stakeholders to promptly resolve quality issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate vehicle parts quality issues and collaborate with Subaru of America, Subaru Corporation, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
  • Consult with Manager to determine optimal reproduction methods and follow established work plans.
  • Reproduce customer-reported issues with parts returned to the Parts Collection Center, using automotive technical knowledge to complete tasks effectively.
  • Summarize reproduced conditions and results in a report.
  • Send parts to suppliers, Subaru of Indiana Automotive, and SBR for further detailed investigations.
Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of Subaru vehicles.
  • At least two to four years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance, including light and heavy maintenance.
  • Proficiency in vehicle part disassembly, assembly, and related skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Computer skills, with a focus on Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Access.
  • Capability to foster cross-functional teamwork.
  • Ability to have cultural awareness and understanding, particularly of Japanese culture.
  • ASE certifications preferred.
Education/Experience Requirements:

2 Year Degree (AA, AS) or 10 years equivalent experience in lieu of degree.

Physical Demands:

Can perform light mechanical duties similar to an automotive technician. May be required to lift moderately heavy automotive components up to 50 lbs.

Travel Required:

10% may include weekends work and occasional overseas travel.

Compensation:

The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $55,800.00 to $70,000.00/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
