Compensation: $23.29 per hour
The New York State Psychiatric Institute is on the lookout for a dedicated individual to fill the role of Technical Support Assistant, Level II, with an expected commitment of approximately 20 hours per week.
The selected candidate will integrate into our neuroscience research team, collaborating closely with colleagues in a dynamic laboratory environment. It is essential for the candidate to demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication abilities, alongside the capacity to work autonomously as well as within a team framework. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a requisite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop code for microcontroller-based systems.
- Conduct data analysis utilizing statistical software and contribute to the preparation of research manuscripts.
- Maintain meticulous records of experiments, data, and methodologies.
- Compile progress reports and assist in manuscript writing.
- Engage in effective communication with team members and collaborators, including presenting findings at meetings and conferences.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- A minimum of one year of experience in data analysis, with proficiency in statistical software such as R or Python.
- At least one year of experience in programming languages such as Arduino, C, or C#.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous research experience in a neuroscience laboratory setting is highly desirable.
