POSITION SUMMARY:

The selected candidate will collaborate within a team focused on infrastructure management and support. This role emphasizes server management and VMware technologies. Responsibilities include designing, deploying, overseeing, and maintaining a comprehensive infrastructure across multiple sites. Tasks may involve hardware and software installation, application infrastructure deployment, and support for both cloud-based and on-premise systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Construct, install, and manage both physical and virtual server environments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the Microsoft Server ecosystem, including Active Directory, certificate services, IIS, and related technologies.
  • Address and remediate vulnerabilities within the infrastructure.
  • Install and configure various applications.
  • Ensure data integrity through regular monitoring of backups and testing of recovery protocols.
  • Utilize system monitoring tools to create dashboards, reports, and alerts.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and team members.
  • Diagnose and resolve server and networking challenges.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and enhance operational processes.
  • Escalate issues as required.
  • Collaborate with fellow IT professionals on cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must effectively fulfill each essential duty. A successful Infrastructure Systems Engineer should possess knowledge of VMware, Windows Server, and SAN technologies to maintain and upgrade systems, including applying patches, service packs, security configurations, and disaster recovery solutions. Continuous learning and professional development are encouraged.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (8 years) in a related role.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a systems administration capacity.
  • Extensive experience with VMware configuration, installation, and administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server versions 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2019.
  • Experience with data storage and SAN technologies.
  • Basic skills in PowerShell scripting.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication and collaboration.
  • Strong customer service orientation for assisting end-users with application issues.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on productivity and creativity.
  • Ability to pursue technical challenges to resolution.
  • Enthusiasm for implementing advanced automation techniques.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possession of relevant certifications demonstrating proficiency in Windows Server and VMware.
  • Able to assess and make decisions regarding necessary software and hardware to fulfill organizational requirements.
  • Experience with Linux and Microsoft SQL administration.
  • Strong customer service skills for supporting end-user application issues.
