Job Overview

As a Production Planner at Sterling Engineering Inc., you will be integral to the smooth functioning of our manufacturing processes for advanced marine robotic systems. Your expertise will directly influence the effectiveness of our core instrumentation products in the scientific and defense sectors.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily production activities, including the scheduling and organization of parts kits for assembly teams.
  • Ensure order fulfillment is on track, maintaining timely deliveries in line with production timelines.
  • Proactively identify and resolve production challenges, implementing effective solutions to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and uphold quality standards to ensure excellence in production.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Control Specialist and Purchasing team to oversee inventory levels and address supply shortages.
  • Monitor and report on production metrics, offering insights for ongoing improvements.
  • Facilitate effective communication between purchasing and manufacturing departments to adhere to scheduled deadlines.
  • Plan, analyze, and schedule job orders within the facility, maximizing operational capacity and efficiency.
  • Review and adjust production schedules for accuracy while considering capacity limitations.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in production control or equivalent specialized training in scheduling and production management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems, with a preference for experience in MISys Manufacturing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of production control methodologies and practices in a fabrication environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to adapt to evolving situations.
