As a Buyer/Planner at Sterling Engineering Inc., you will engage with various departments, utilizing your procurement skills to facilitate smooth operations and enhance customer satisfaction. This role offers a chance to contribute significantly within a nurturing and growth-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in tandem with manufacturing, research & development, and engineering teams to grasp project needs and ensure timely acquisition of materials.
- Evaluate product demand and strategically source materials, optimizing stock levels while minimizing turnover rates.
- Perform comprehensive market analysis, request quotes from diverse suppliers, and negotiate advantageous pricing and delivery timelines.
- Generate purchase orders, track order fulfillment, and expedite shipments as necessary to uphold operational effectiveness.
- Build and sustain relationships with new suppliers, vendors, and part numbers within the MRP system, securing favorable payment conditions.
- Assist the accounting team with receiving, invoicing, and related activities.
- Support engineering and manufacturing in product development projects.
- Acquire necessary certifications and training for the handling and transportation of specialized materials, including Lithium Metal Batteries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a similar field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Misys Software is required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Basic understanding of BOMs (Bills of Materials) and strong mathematical skills.
- Negotiation capabilities to secure beneficial agreements with suppliers.
- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions like VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
Compensation:
Salary range: $55,000-$70,000/year
