About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team at The University of Virginia. As an Assistant Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Sports Medicine team and contributing to the academic and athletic excellence of our institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic training services to student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention programs and protocols to minimize the risk of injury to student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with the Sports Medicine team to provide comprehensive care to student-athletes, including medical treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of student-athletes to identify potential health risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, coaches, and other team staff to ensure seamless integration of athletic training services into the overall athletic program.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • Current certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) or eligibility for certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer in a university or college setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
