Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Events plays a crucial role within the Development Team, focusing on securing corporate sponsorships and driving fundraising initiatives. This position is responsible for the strategic implementation and management of a comprehensive sponsorship and fundraising program that supports the organization's events and development efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to meet financial objectives through event sponsorship and donor engagement.
  • Establish partnerships with luxury brands across various sectors, including finance, automotive, healthcare, and travel, to support organizational initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor the event management team, optimizing consultant contributions and third-party collaborations.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to align organizational goals and enhance cross-departmental cooperation.
  • Oversee budget creation and management for departmental and event-related expenditures.
  • Engage with other departments to fulfill the mission and objectives of the organization.
  • Directly pursue corporate sponsorships, in-kind contributions, media partnerships, and corporate giving opportunities.
  • Manage the overarching strategy for fundraising events, ensuring year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Work with the Development Team to establish financial goals and metrics for events.
  • Recruit qualified attendees to maximize revenue and foster donor relationships.
  • Identify and cultivate potential sponsorship opportunities, leveraging business development skills to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Deliver exceptional experiences for donors, sponsors, and families, ensuring that events stand out in the competitive landscape.
  • Oversee the production and management of the FUTURES family conference, including sponsorship acquisition and budget oversight.
  • Partner with Leadership and the Development Team to enhance donor engagement and relationship building.
  • Utilize project management tools to track progress and ensure timely execution of deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team on promotional strategies and content development.
  • Implement event prospecting strategies to boost revenue and attendance.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the mission and values of CureDuchenne.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in managing large-scale events, preferably within nonprofit organizations.
  • Proven success in securing sponsorships from major luxury brands.
  • Experience in developing marketing strategies that contribute to revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of donor development processes and event strategy alignment.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to oversee complex budgets and timelines.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience in building high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with project management software, Excel, Salesforce, and event management platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort in engaging with senior executives and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in securing significant funding support.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in organizing large conferences is a plus.
