Distributor Sales Consultant (DSC)
The Distributor Sales Consultant role is a dynamic sales position focused on expanding and nurturing a designated territory, which includes various locations in California. This role offers an attractive commission structure, vehicle reimbursement, and comprehensive benefits.
The DSC is tasked with managing a specific group of clients, primarily aimed at enhancing the overall sales performance of their salons.
Key responsibilities include achieving set sales targets by leveraging manufacturer training and sales tools.
Sales growth will be driven by opening new accounts and promoting approved beauty products while introducing innovative offerings and concepts.
Identify significant accounts within the territory and establish an efficient route to cultivate existing relationships while seeking new opportunities.Assist clients in strategizing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of in-salon promotions and programs.
Collaborate with vendors to communicate sales initiatives and meet corporate sales objectives on a regular basis.Respond promptly to all forms of communication within a 24-hour timeframe.
Assess client accounts to determine necessary brand support, education, and promotional strategies for growth.
Conduct in-person visits to clients to fulfill established sales objectives.
Ensure compliance with return processing procedures, including the collection of returns and completion of required documentation.Complete assignments and projects in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with various business functions, including customer service and accounts receivable.Actively seek new clients through cold outreach and digital platforms.
Manage all administrative tasks efficiently, including daily order processing and maintaining customer information in the sales system.Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual product knowledge sessions.
Maintain open communication with management regarding sales activities, orders, and any required support.Become a subject matter expert in utilizing digital platforms and social media to enhance business growth, sharing insights with colleagues to improve the team's digital skills.
Attend industry events, assisting with setup and teardown of displays, and performing necessary physical tasks.
Commit to continuous improvement and personal development, focusing on digital and social media strategies to attract new clients and strengthen existing relationships.
Stay adaptable to market changes while developing industry knowledge to respond effectively to competition.A minimum of one year of proven outside sales experience or relevant experience in the beauty sector with a focus on consultative selling is required.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and visual merchandising is preferred.Proficient use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram to build client relationships and meet business objectives is essential.
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Outlook and other relevant software, are necessary to build an online community and foster connections.This role involves local travel within the assigned territory and participation in industry events, which may require overnight stays.
Excellent time management and organizational skills are crucial for managing multiple projects simultaneously.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interaction at all organizational levels.
