Transmission Rebuild Specialist

Overview:
The primary responsibility of this role is to reconstruct transmissions, transfer cases, and differentials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive guidance from the shop supervisor regarding work priorities.
- Collaborate with disassembly personnel to identify units requiring preparation for re-manufacturing.
- Thoroughly clean all core and component parts as part of the pre-assembly process.
- Examine cores and components to assess their rebuildability. Notify the shop supervisor if any core or parts are deemed non-rebuildable.
- Analyze cores to identify critical components or any parts that do not meet quality standards.
- Remove internal bearings and gears, identifying worn components for disposal.
- Document all components selected for replacement in the Work In Progress (WIP) document.
- Ensure all inventoried components are accurately recorded on the WIP document.
- Submit the completed WIP document to parts pullers for processing.
- Initiate the next project while awaiting the retrieval and delivery of parts.
- Adhere to build sheets or standard operating procedures (as available) to complete all rebuilding tasks.
- Verify that the finished unit operates correctly and meets cosmetic standards.
- Maintain cleanliness by emptying the scrap bin and disposing of trash at the workstation as necessary.
- Notify maintenance personnel of any machinery malfunctions.
- Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Execute these responsibilities in a professional and timely manner.
