Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for performing patient access functions of a specialized nature, requiring the application and interpretation of policies and procedures and the use of independent judgment in a medical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and families, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling processes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Revenue Cycle policies and procedures, and perform problem-solving activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with Financial Coordinators to provide financial screening and counseling support.
  • Perform area-specific support activities and demonstrate engagement in the work team and goals of the Revenue Cycle.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • No experience required.
  • None required.
Working Conditions

This is a primarily sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings and programs.
