Job Title: Patient Services Coordinator

Virginia Oncology Associates, a leading cancer care and blood disorders group, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Coordinator to support our office in Norfolk.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional patient care by greeting patients and visitors, checking them in, and informing clinical staff of patient arrival.
  • Collect and process patient paperwork, update demographics and insurance information, and collect co-pays and balances.
  • Answer routine questions, route calls to appropriate personnel, and take thorough messages.
  • Check patients out after examination, schedule returning appointments, and provide patients with appointment details.
  • Record patient cancellations and missed appointments, reschedule appointments, and notify staff accordingly.
  • Provide general administrative support, maintain the lobby area, and adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Receptionist or office experience preferred.
  • 3 years of medical office experience with scheduling background in a busy practice strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to travel to other office locations if needed.
