Student Success Program Manager

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager for Student Success to lead the day-to-day operations of the Building Hispanic Talent Initiative (BHTI). This is a grant-funded position that requires a strong understanding of program management, student development, and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and monitor programming related to the Building Hispanic Talent Initiative, ensuring effective implementation and evaluation of program activities.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to evaluate program effectiveness, make recommendations, and prepare and present program reports.
- Review micro grant proposals, manage the process of awarding funds to HACU member institutions, and supervise micro grant awardees.
- Prepare and monitor grant budget, draft financial reports as requested, and plan, develop, and execute program activities and events.
- Coordinate marketing and promotion of BHTI activities, creating and developing marketing materials as needed.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with participating HACU member institutions, high school students, and their families, as well as Dominion Energy and HACU partners.
- Facilitate relationships between colleges and universities, high school students, and their families, Dominion Energy, and HACU to ensure program success.
- Provide regular feedback to Dominion Energy regarding BHTI, specifically participant success and program progression and status of grant.
- Serve as point of contact between HACU and Dominion Energy to coordinate HACU conference-related events and activities.
- Bachelor's degree in education, public administration, social work, STEM, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of two years of experience in student development, community outreach, or program management, with previous experience in grant management and reporting and/or program evaluation and implementation preferred.
- Proactive, organized, and professional, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collect and tell student success stories and speak effectively before small and large groups.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and other virtual meeting tools.
- Strong budget management skills preferred.
- Work a standard of 40 hours a week, with longer hours possible at times.
- Conferences and other HACU events may take place in hotel and/or convention center settings, requiring longer hours of work on a constantly changing schedule, including work on weekends and evenings.
- Work in an office environment with sitting or standing, computer data entry, and answering phones.
- Occasionally move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally require employee to squat, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach for items.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
- Positions self to perform essential functions of the job in an office setting.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- Maintain and ensure security of HACU-issued equipment, software, data, and supplies.
- Travel may be required to perform essential functions.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
