POSITION OVERVIEW

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is in search of a dedicated Program Manager for Student Success who will oversee the daily functions of the Building Hispanic Talent Initiative (BHTI) at Dominion Energy. This role will act as the primary liaison for all BHTI-related activities, working in close collaboration with staff, participating colleges and universities, and partners from Dominion Energy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and assess programming associated with the Building Hispanic Talent Initiative.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, provide recommendations, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Oversee the review and awarding process of micro grants to HACU member institutions, ensuring effective implementation and monitoring of grant activities.
  • Prepare and manage grant budgets, including drafting financial reports as needed.
  • Plan and execute program events and activities, including annual celebrations and site visits to engage with students and partners.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for BHTI activities, developing promotional materials as necessary.
  • Maintain effective communication with participating institutions to ensure smooth program execution and success.
  • Facilitate connections between colleges, high school students, families, and partners to support program objectives.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding participant success and program status.
  • Act as the main contact for coordinating HACU conference-related events.
  • Perform additional duties that align with the mission and goals of the department.
  • Travel may be required as part of the role.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, social work, STEM, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least two years of experience in student development, community outreach, or program management, with a preference for those with grant management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, showcasing strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to various audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms is essential.
  • Preferred experience in budget management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position requires a standard workweek of 40 hours, with the possibility of extended hours during peak times.
  • Work may involve attending conferences and events that require flexibility in scheduling.
  • Office environment with tasks including data entry and communication via phone and email.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
