POSITION SUMMARY


This role entails the operation of machinery and apparatus within the PDC testing and repair facility, including the setup of equipment, interpretation of schematics and directives, and verification of operational efficiency.

The position demands the ability to troubleshoot devices and tools, engage in independent problem-solving, and collaborate with colleagues and engineers. Duties also encompass conducting equipment trials and assessments, assisting in cutter and testing development initiatives, and executing cutter adjustments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate diverse machinery and apparatus in the PDC testing and repair facility.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail during machine setup to ensure consistent and reliable performance.
  • Interpret schematics, workflow documents, and manufacturing guidelines.
  • Configure, test, and validate the functionality of equipment.
  • Diagnose issues with products and tools, performing repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues and engineers to promptly address product and procedural challenges.
  • Resolve most issues autonomously, escalating only complex matters to higher authorities.
  • Analyze and assess testing conditions proficiently.
  • Execute tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Inspect and measure components diligently.
  • Ensure proper operation, upkeep, and calibration of equipment.
  • Engage in equipment troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct equipment trials and assessments, document findings, prototype components, and develop methodologies.
  • Assist in cutter and testing development projects.
  • Implement cutter modifications as requested by manufacturing or repair divisions.
  • Contribute to root cause analyses for field inquiries and repair center cutter issues.
  • Perform additional work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with PDC cutters is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrated experience adhering to procedures and documentation.
  • Proficient English language skills, both written and verbal.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

  • Willingness to actively engage in improvement initiatives and provide constructive feedback.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting 25lbs to shoulder height.
  • Able to exert light physical effort to lift or move materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
