Key Responsibilities

Overview

Under general supervision, you will carry out general maintenance tasks with a degree of autonomy to apply your knowledge and technical skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess assigned tasks and ensure that appropriate materials and tools are available for completion.
  • Oversee work, provide technical guidance, and inspect tasks performed by maintenance staff.
  • Conduct preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
  • Operate machinery and equipment related to your assigned area.
  • Perform carpentry tasks, including the repair or replacement of doors, windows, walls, flooring, and roofing.
  • Carry out plumbing, heating, and air conditioning repairs, including work on furnaces, ductwork, air conditioners, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Execute electrical repairs, including the replacement of fixtures and control switches.
  • Engage in minor construction activities, such as building storage units and workbenches using hand and power tools.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on facility machinery and vehicles.
  • Maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of assigned personnel.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related field. Completion of relevant technical or trade school courses may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
  • Familiarity with maintenance techniques and procedures, including the ability to interpret electrical diagrams and perform necessary calculations.
  • Strong communication skills to convey ideas and instructions clearly and effectively.
