Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Roadway Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and managing roadway projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop roadway plans and specifications for various transportation projects
  • Review and approve engineering designs and plans to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Manage and coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and project managers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including local government officials, consultants, and citizens, to ensure successful project outcomes

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Valid Professional Engineer's license (PE)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway design and project management
  • Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
