Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Repair Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our security electronics team, you will be responsible for providing technical repair support for various security electronics systems at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical repair support for security electronics systems, including CCTV, perimeter detection, panic alarm, intrusion, PLC door controls, intercom/Public Announcement (PA), and access control systems.
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain security systems, ensuring their confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Manage inventory, plan and purchase equipment, and respond to work requests in a timely manner using the Total Maintenance System (TMS).
  • Key data into the TMS for preventative maintenance, corrective repairs, and inventory purposes.
  • Supervise inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of communication wiring infrastructure, cable TV, and other non-security related areas.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and equivalent experience in relevant fields.
  • Working knowledge of electronics theory and practice as it relates to electronic security systems.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking as it pertains to CCTV and electronic security systems and devices.
  • Working knowledge of access control systems comprised of commercially available components, relay logic, and custom Programable Logic Control (PLC) based or hybrid systems.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems from Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) through various Windows OS environments.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex electronic system problems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of perimeter security and public address systems.
  • Working knowledge of electronics theory, including troubleshooting, calibration, test procedures, and circuit analysis.
  • Knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Ability to fabricate, modify, and perform component-level repair on a diversity of electronic instruments.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, block diagrams, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, flow charts, truth tables, and service manuals.
  • Knowledge of two-way radio systems.
