We are looking for a seasoned Sales Operations Manager who will act as the primary advocate for our clients, ensuring effective management of customer relationships. This role encompasses overseeing customer order processes and diligently following up on pricing proposals in line with departmental performance indicators, while implementing the product strategy associated with quoting and pricing.
The Sales Operations Manager will also take charge of establishing performance metrics aligned with the operational strategy and supervising the daily activities of the Inside Sales, Program Management, Product Engineering, and Costing Teams.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Access to sensitive information governed by strict regulations; applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by law.
- A minimum of 5 years in a comparable role.
- A Bachelor's degree in business management or a related discipline is preferred.
- A technical background is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are crucial.
- Familiarity with the Wire and Cable sector, particularly in Oil, Gas, Defense, and/or Subsea Exploration is preferred.
- Previous experience in managing teams is essential.
- An understanding of LEAN/Continuous Improvement principles is necessary.
- Knowledge of USML (ITAR) and CCL (EAR) regulations is preferred.
- Some travel for client meetings and exhibitions may be required.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.
- 1 - 3 years of relevant experience is required.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and facilitate the daily operations of the Inside Sales, Product Engineering, and Costing departments by providing necessary resources and guidance.
- Act as escalation support for sales and customer service inquiries, collaborating with the field sales team as needed.
- Manage the quote process and analysis to ensure that business performance indicators are achieved; this includes overseeing product cost management for projects and maintaining budget forecasts.
- Ensure that orders are processed through the correct business channels, recorded accurately against performance indicators, and update budget forecasts as necessary.
- Monitor and manage departmental metrics, providing regular updates on performance indicators.
- Oversee S&OP forecasts, including routine updates to relevant stakeholders and coordinating with leadership on any changes based on business performance indicators.
- Participate in the delegation of authority matrix for project and pricing management.
- Evaluate company performance against monthly, quarterly, and yearly objectives; coordinate with relevant stakeholders on any necessary adjustments to established goals.
- Research market and industry trends to provide informed recommendations for potential new product offerings.
- Represent the company at networking events and industry conferences.
