Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in the strategic planning, organization, coordination, and management of sales, operations, customer service, and personnel activities within the designated store. This position is pivotal in the recruitment of new team members and the ongoing training of both new and existing staff. The Assistant Manager is tasked with aiding the Store Manager in achieving the sales and profit objectives established by the leadership team, while also providing guidance and support to employees to help them meet or exceed these targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Store Manager in the daily management of store operations.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and training to store employees.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of various product lines and merchandise.
  • Support the Store Manager in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for new employees.
  • Assist in addressing employee-related issues and concerns alongside Store Managers and Supervisors.
  • Help complete employee schedules and assign specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Support the Store Manager in tracking financial data and quotas, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Assist in inventory management, auditing, and making necessary adjustments, while alerting leadership to trends.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly staffing evaluations and make recommendations based on business needs.
  • Address customer and employee concerns, escalating issues to the Store Manager or Human Resources as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate employee timekeeping and report any discrepancies to Human Resources.
  • Adhere to and promote corporate values, policies, and objectives.
  • Encourage employees to utilize the Employee Portal effectively.
  • Perform additional projects and duties as assigned.

Travel Expectations:

Occasional travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, with additional college coursework preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in customer service, sales, retail, or a similar public-facing role.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in supervising or training within retail operations.
  • Proficiency in navigating sales software and data reporting tools, with a commitment to maintaining current technological skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively, fostering professional relationships with colleagues, customers, and corporate staff.
  • Consistent attendance and availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
