Job Overview:

The role entails aiding the Store Manager in strategizing, organizing, coordinating, and overseeing the sales, operations, customer service, and personnel functions of the designated store. The individual will play a key role in the recruitment of new team members and the ongoing training of both new and existing staff. This position is pivotal in assisting the Store Manager to achieve the sales and profit objectives established by the leadership team, while also guiding and supporting employees to meet or surpass these goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Store Manager in the daily management of store operations.
  • Assist in the supervision, mentorship, and training of staff members.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of various product lines and services offered.
  • Facilitate the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for new employees.
  • Collaborate with Store Managers and Supervisors to address employee-related matters.
  • Help in the development of work schedules and assignment of tasks to employees.
  • Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and implementing financial metrics and targets for the store and staff, aligned with the business's financial objectives.
  • Support the Store Manager in inventory management, auditing, and timely adjustments, while highlighting trends to executive leadership.
  • Participate in the assessment of staffing needs on a monthly and quarterly basis, making replacements as necessary based on operational demands.
  • Address customer and employee concerns, escalating significant issues to the Store Manager, Supervisor, or Human Resources.
  • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring accurate employee timekeeping, promptly addressing any discrepancies with Human Resources.
  • Adhere to and actively support corporate values, policies, and objectives.
  • Promote and educate employees on the use of the Employee Portal.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Travel Expectations:

Occasional travel may be required as necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, ideally complemented by college coursework.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in customer service, sales/retail, or similar roles involving public interaction.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in supervising or training within retail operations.
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate sales software and data reporting tools, maintaining current technical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage organized and prioritized workloads while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, fostering professional relationships with colleagues, customers, and corporate staff.
  • Consistent attendance with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
