Music Therapist Job Description

Regions Hospital is seeking a skilled Music Therapist to join our team in a part-time, benefit-eligible position. This role will involve working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Friday, from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Job Summary

As a Music Therapist, you will provide music therapy services in a professional and compassionate manner, utilizing music therapy techniques tailored to individual patient needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering music therapy services in a hospital setting
  • Documenting services provided and communicating with referral sources and other treating providers as needed
  • Participating as an integral member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Providing education to patients and families regarding treatment and follow-up, as well as referrals for additional integrative therapies when appropriate
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's, Master's degree, or equivalent in music therapy from a college or university accredited by the American Music Therapy Association, along with completion of an internship
  • Experience providing music therapy in a hospital and/or healthcare setting
  • Current board certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists or a passing score on the Board Certification Examination awaiting certification
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome candidates with:

  • Post-graduate degrees
  • Neurologic Music Therapy Certification
  • Advanced certification and/or licensure to support the position
