POSITION SUMMARY

The Loss Control Consultant plays a crucial role in assisting clients with the oversight, creation, and execution of risk management and loss prevention strategies. This position involves conducting thorough on-site evaluations for incidents and accidents that affect both employees and the public, with findings reported to site supervisors and the Risk Management Department. Additionally, the consultant assesses standard operating procedures across various domains, including employee safety, training, public safety, and equipment safety, to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct investigations into incidents leading to claims and communicate findings to clients.
  • Propose strategies for hazard elimination and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor the implementation of recommended safety measures.
  • Support clients in developing and executing effective safety programs.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings on-site.
  • Inspect playground facilities and investigate related accidents.
  • Create and enforce loss control management policies and procedures to ensure consistent application of safety measures, including return-to-work programs and loss control data analysis.
  • Document findings and draft reports detailing recommendations for corrective actions based on inspection results.
  • Identify training needs for loss control and safety to assist clients in establishing effective safety plans.
  • Deliver fundamental health and safety training to supervisors and staff to manage accident risks effectively.
  • Stay updated on industry trends through professional literature and regulatory guidelines.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
  • OSHA 501 certification (or obtain within 12 months of hire); additional certifications based on client requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; two to five years of relevant experience or training.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations and logical reasoning.
  • Ability to interpret nonverbal symbols and scientific data.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in email, databases, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, loss control practices, and training methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills to build professional relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Professional representation of the company to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
