Position Overview
This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial and administrative integrity of the institutional research initiatives, ensuring adherence to both internal and external standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conducts thorough reviews of externally funded research proposals to verify compliance with sponsor stipulations and institutional policies. Ensures that all necessary regulatory assessments and institutional endorsements are secured. Analyzes proposed budgets for accuracy and reasonableness, collaborating with Principal Investigators and team members to facilitate timely submissions.
  2. Partners with Analysts to review budgets for industry-sponsored projects, ensuring alignment with the statement of work. Monitors payments against these budgets to confirm appropriate allocation.
  3. Works alongside Analysts to assess compliance risks associated with collaborators, recommending monitoring strategies as needed. Manages negotiations and the issuance of subcontracts for externally funded research initiatives.
  4. Evaluates submitted Time & Effort reports to ensure compliance with institutional requirements and sponsor guidelines.
  5. Establishes restricted fund accounts in accordance with award documentation, grantor policies, and departmental protocols.
  6. Oversees comprehensive review and reporting of expenditures related to grants and contracts, including the analysis of allowable costs, journal adjustments, and follow-up actions through the close-out phase in collaboration with Analysts.
  7. Assists in the preparation of various reports required by funding agencies or management, including data research and compilation.
  8. Addresses inquiries from Principal Investigators and Grants Management Specialists, providing problem-solving support.
  9. Reconciles and prepares invoices as necessary under contracts, including those related to Health Initiatives and research partners, following up on accounts receivable.
  10. Collaborates with Analysts to ensure the integrity of the Peoplesoft grant management systems and security. Works closely with technical staff to guarantee that systems function effectively and accurately within the grants module, maintaining the integrity of financial data.
  11. Participates in financial grant system upgrades, testing, and new system implementations to ensure a thorough understanding of National Jewish programs and systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
