Transportation Engineer

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc. (FTCH) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Roadway Engineer to join our team in Novi, MI. As a key member of our transportation design team, you will be responsible for leading the production of transportation plans using MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of transportation plans and designs for various projects, including roadways, highways, and bridges.
- Collaborate with clients, including MDOT, local agencies, and other consulting firms, to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality results.
- Assist in responding to requests for proposals and marketing efforts to promote the company's services.
- Demonstrate expertise in civil engineering and specialized software, including MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Work closely with other technical staff to provide transportation design and consulting engineering services, primarily for MDOT and municipalities in SE Michigan.
- Prepare plans, develop cost estimates, and write specifications for bidding.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Michigan PE license required.
- 5 or more years of experience in related roadway engineering working on MDOT or municipal projects.
- Adept with MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D software and other design modeling software.
- Experience with storm sewer drainage design and developing pavement marking, signing, and maintenance of traffic plans is a plus.
- Excellent computer and communication skills.
