The organization is currently in search of a qualified Electrical Engineer II.
Position Summary:
The Electrical Engineer II will be an integral part of the Automated Vehicle Engineering team, responsible for the conceptualization, design, and validation of electrical and control systems tailored for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). These systems are utilized across various sectors, including manufacturing, industrial operations, warehousing, and entertainment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical designs for battery-operated industrial AGVs/AMRs in accordance with specified requirements.
- Ensure designs are executed within the defined budget and project scope.
- Outline the scope of work and operational descriptions.
- Assess equipment performance needs and capabilities.
- Draft documentation for control and electrical system concepts.
- Prepare design specifications for control and electrical systems.
- Create schematics and layouts for control and electrical systems.
- Generate testing and as-built documentation.
- Oversee the budget, schedule, and scope of assigned design projects.
- Evaluate and select appropriate control and electrical components.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Work with teams to assess technical risks associated with control and electrical systems.
- Engage with teams to propose and implement enhancements to products and processes.
- Assist the manufacturing facility in the assembly and testing of AGVs.
- Provide remote support to commissioning teams and customers in troubleshooting AGV-related issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechatronics) or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in:
- Understanding the structure and content of the English language, including grammar and composition.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Electrical design and component selection.
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and layouts.
- Troubleshooting electrical systems both on-site and remotely.
- Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical (or similar software).
- Experience in designing automation equipment, including:
- Panel design and component layout.
- Power distribution systems.
- Integration with control devices (PLC, industrial computers, motor controllers, etc.).
- Harness design and wire routing.
- Interfacing with I/O and peripheral devices.
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ANSI B56.5, UL 583, and ISO 3691 specifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in electrical design.
Physical Requirements:
Visits to client locations may necessitate navigating through industrial environments, which may include climbing ladders, maneuvering around conveyor systems, and lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
