Job Summary

The Manufacturing Manager at TCI International, Inc. will oversee daily operations and supervise personnel in EM assembly, ensuring product safety and efficiency. This role involves pre-production planning, production staging, and employee direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • EM Assembly
    • Oversee EM operational systems, processes, and infrastructure while identifying areas for improvement.
    • Work with planning and purchasing to schedule materials, plan inventory, and support warehouse efficiency.
    • Collaborate with planning, purchasing, quality, and warehouse to ensure parts are available before assembly.
    • Track line shortages and expedite materials through purchasing/receiving/stock to floor.
    • Directly supervise employees, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training.
    • Monitor and balance assembly areas for throughput based on shipping schedules.
    • Evaluate necessary resources, including people, equipment, and tools, and make requests as needed.
    • Anticipate and track operational and tactical risks, providing solutions to prevent and mitigate risks.
    • Oversee quality of work within EM, ensuring tasks are performed correctly.
    • Work with Quality Manager to implement quality controls and improve quality.
    • Communicate workplace safety requirements and precautions to EM employees.
    • Formulate EM strategic and operational objectives.
    • Manage department budgets and forecasts.
    • Monitor EM KPIs, creating mitigation plans when measures consistently miss target or trend negative.
  • Facility
    • Communicate and coordinate with landlord regarding building/grounds maintenance, repairs, and emergency services.
    • Monitor safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, including custodial functions.
    • Maintain recycling program in facility.
    • Manage and review facility service contracts.
    • Conduct regular facilities inspections.
  • EHS
    • Organize and lead the Safety Team.
    • Ensure all employees conduct annual safety training.
    • Be the site liaison to Corporate EHS team, reporting as required.
    • Implement security and emergency preparedness procedures, conducting drills and training.
    • Liaise with OSHA, submitting annual reports and notifying incidents.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years work experience in EM assembly.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in assembly leadership role, directly managing assembly team.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experience in Oracle, a plus.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Hands-on ability to jump in at any time to assembly, move parts, or perform tasks expected of subordinates.
  • Electromechanical assembly experience in complex equipment, weighted towards electro-mechanical.
  • Skills in assembly and reworking metals, cables/harnesses, and metals.
  • Able to understand mechanical drawing, electrical schematics, and assembly procedures.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Knowledge of Internet software, ERP/MRP systems, and Processing software (Windows-based).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information to direct reports and peers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, practical experience using Oracle a plus.
  • ISO 9001 experience required, statistical analysis skills important.

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering, manufacturing, or similar technical area.
