About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Client Sales Consultant to join our team at Basepoint Building Automations. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing long-term client relationships in the Kansas City area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hunt and farm: Actively seek out new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships to maintain and grow long-term partnerships.
  • Manage full sales cycle: From initial lead generation to closing, manage sales cycles of 3 to 24 months, primarily in the HVAC controls industry.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and marketing to create compelling proposals and ensure project success.
  • Develop bids: Sell services through estimating and bidding on new construction, remodels, retrofits, and modifications.
  • Industry networking: Establish relationships with architectural, mechanical, and electrical engineering firms to stay informed on industry trends and opportunities.
  • High-value project management: Handle projects in the $10k-$500k range, ensuring a smooth handoff to project management teams.
Requirements
  • Sales hunter mentality: You are driven by a strong desire to generate new business, with a focus on longer-term sales cycles. You're a go-getter who thrives on building trust and relationships.
  • Background in construction or technical sales: Experience in HVAC controls industry or general construction is preferred, but we are open to those with related backgrounds such as engineering or electrical/mechanical industry sales.
  • Relationship builder: Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, such as CIO, Operations Director, Maintenance Director.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit: You possess an entrepreneurial drive and initiative, willing to navigate the challenges of a longer sales cycle and manage complex projects.
  • Technical acumen: Comfortable with software like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to create and present compelling business proposals.
