Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our dynamic team at Denver Health.

Role Summary:
Under general supervision, the Patient Care Assistant will provide support across various inpatient units and the Emergency Department, adapting to the hospital's staffing needs. This role is essential in assisting professional nursing staff and ensuring quality care for all patients, respecting their individuality and needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Assist Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) in implementing care plans for assigned patients.
  • Monitor vital signs and report any abnormal findings to the nursing staff.
  • Participate actively in the patient care team, offering assistance to colleagues when needed.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and maintain required records.
  • Facilitate patient transportation and the delivery of medical items as necessary.
  • Engage in discharge planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications:
  • Must possess a valid CNA certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
