We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics. As a Child Life Specialist, you will play a critical role in assessing and providing services to children and their families, promoting positive behavioral, psychological, and physiological outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and prioritize children and families to develop comprehensive plans of care based on psychosocial risk and need.
- Provide education and coping support to children and families to reduce stress and anxiety accompanying hospitalization and other aspects of healthcare.
- Represent, communicate, and teach child life services to other professionals, volunteers, students, and the community.
- Work collaboratively with all parties to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Bachelor's Degree required and 1-2 years experience preferred or Master's Degree preferred.
- Certified Child Life Specialist or equivalent within 365 days.
- Infant Massage Instructor Certification and Recreational Therapy Certification preferred.
