About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Life Specialist to join our team at Children's Mercy Kansas City. As a key member of our Child Life department, you will play a vital role in providing psychosocial support to pediatric patients and their families, helping to reduce stress and anxiety associated with hospitalization and healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize children and families to develop comprehensive plans of care based on psychosocial risk and need.
  • Provide education and coping support to children and families to promote positive behavioral, psychological, and physiological outcomes.
  • Represent and communicate child life services to other professionals, volunteers, students, and the community, working collaboratively to achieve optimal outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) certification required within 365 days of hire.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations and families, preferably in a hospital setting.
