Child Life Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychosocial support to pediatric patients and their families, assessing and prioritizing their needs, and developing comprehensive plans of care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and prioritize children and families to develop comprehensive plans of care
- Provide education and coping support to children and families to reduce stress and anxiety
- Train and work with Patient Activity Coordinators, Project Rise Hospitality Assistants, foster grandparents, and volunteers in assigned areas
- Facilitate an accredited Child Life Internship Program, a Child Life Practicum Program, and provide educational experiences for other healthcare professionals and learners
- Bachelor's Degree required and 1-2 years experience preferred or Master's Degree preferred
- Certified Child Life Specialist
- Employees must obtain Certified Child Life Specialist or equivalent within 365 days
