Position Overview
HDR is seeking a Senior Project Manager specializing in Electrical Engineering to join our esteemed Power Generation practice within the Resources Business Group. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in project management and consulting within the power sector, particularly in power generation and industrial markets. This role involves collaborating with teams focused on hydropower, power generation, renewables, and cross-sector initiatives to define and execute Owner's Engineer projects related to turbine-generator systems and plant maintenance for various power clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Project Manager for Owners Engineer (OE)/design/front-end engineering projects.
  • Understand client technical challenges and effectively present HDR's expertise as solutions, assisting in client development strategies.
  • Oversee the execution of electrical discipline lead OE/design/front-end engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with client development leadership to prioritize business growth opportunities.
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities to enhance service offerings to clients.
  • Promote a culture of quality within production teams.
  • Support risk management efforts, including contract reviews and project deliverables, liaising with legal and business leadership.
  • Represent HDR at professional organizations and industry events, showcasing our unique capabilities.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
  • Manage all aspects of complex small to medium projects or routine large projects.
  • Simultaneously oversee multiple small to medium projects.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, participating in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
  • Facilitate work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Monitor financial aspects of projects, adjusting work efforts to adhere to budget and schedule constraints.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for project reviews.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring tight budgets and schedules are met, while identifying and managing resources effectively.
  • Work independently and collaboratively, completing tasks within strict deadlines.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10 years of experience in the power and/or industrial electrical engineering sector.
  • 5 years of project management experience.
  • A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.

  • PMP Certification is preferred.
