Position Summary:

We are looking for a proficient and detail-oriented Metal Fabrication Specialist to become a vital part of our production team at KD BUYER LLC. The successful candidate will possess hands-on experience with various metal forming machinery, including brake presses, punch presses, and shear presses, and will thrive in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:
  • Configure and operate multiple press machines to shape and cut metal components in accordance with technical specifications and production orders.
  • Modify machine parameters, such as pressure and angles, to achieve precise bends and measurements.
  • Oversee machine functions to guarantee the accuracy and quality of the end products.
Tooling and Setup:
  • Choose suitable tooling and dies based on the type and thickness of the material.
  • Conduct machine setup and adjustments for various production cycles.
  • Ensure correct alignment and calibration of manufacturing equipment.
Quality Assurance:
  • Examine finished components for compliance with specifications using precision measurement instruments, including calipers and gauges.
  • Detect and rectify any flaws or inconsistencies in the fabrication process.
  • Maintain thorough records of production activities and quality assessments.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure peak performance and minimize downtime.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and technical challenges related to equipment.
  • Work alongside the maintenance team to establish preventative maintenance schedules.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, efficiency, and safety in machine operations.
  • Propose and implement process enhancements to minimize waste and optimize workflow.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to fostering a culture of safety.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in a metal fabrication setting.

Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and material characteristics.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Physical capability to lift heavy materials and remain standing for extended periods.


Preferred Skills:

Experience with Trumpf/Amada laser cutting.

Spot/MIG welding experience.

Advanced certification or training in brake press operation.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices, including continuous improvement.

Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for production planning and inventory management.

Basic computer skills, including email and spreadsheet proficiency.
