Architectural Ironworker Position Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proficient manual craftsman with expertise in the assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of architectural metal structures for various constructions. This role is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to quality workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute skilled tasks in the assembly, fabrication, and repair of architectural metal components.
  • Interpret and work from sketches for shop fabrication processes.
  • Utilize appropriate tools to fabricate metal structures effectively.
  • Handle loading, unloading, erecting, and dismantling of materials and scaffolding.
  • Perform welding and cutting of steel and aluminum frameworks.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and established practices while working.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain tools in good condition and ensure proper care.
  • Complete other assigned tasks as required.

Work Environment:

This position may require exposure to operating machinery, noise, odors, and various weather conditions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of architectural ironworking principles and safety measures.
  • Capability to interpret sketches, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in oxyacetylene and electric arc welding techniques.
  • Skilled in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent, along with approved apprenticeship training in architectural ironwork or relevant experience.
