Job Title: Peer Recovery Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team at Richmond Behavioral Health Authority. As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in their recovery journey, providing guidance, and promoting healthy behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals in their recovery journey, promoting healthy behaviors and coping mechanisms.
  • Facilitate group meetings and provide minutes for meetings.
  • Supervise and schedule support associates.
  • Develop and implement wellness recovery action plans with clients, ensuring their recovery goals are met.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and support clients in times of need.
  • Arrange and provide transportation for clients to appointments and social outings.
  • Document services and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Develop and implement staff and client schedules.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in providing peer recovery support is preferred.
  • Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
  • Must self-identify as either a current or former consumer of substance use services, or a person recovering from a substance use disorder.
  • Must be maintaining a healthy recovery lifestyle.
